The Global Aviation Option in Aeronautics with a Concentration in Flight Science - Professional Pilot is based in Madrid, Spain and St. Louis, Missouri in the United States. The first of its kind, this program is structured to educate and train pilots to be qualified for minimal transition between any certification standards in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This new initiative combines the best of U.S. and European training and a U.S. bachelor's degree, in effect, providing the experience that allows for global certification. SLU students earn more than 200 hours of flight training, including more than 100 hours of solo flight time.
Students also gain the flight and ground experience necessary to conduct the transition to the European ATPL theory and CPL-IR licenses, enabling graduates to qualify for worldwide certification with minimal transitional training. Students complete the FAA Instrument and Commercial, Single and Multi-Engine ratings in tandem with Air Transport Pilots License (ATPL) theory courses at the level required by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Small class sizes, personal attention to students by the faculty and staff. Hands-on experience to complement lectures throughout the curriculum. Excellent flight training facilities in St. Louis, Missouri. Students will receive a quality education in aviation science, as well as the added value of international exposure.
Our admission criteria are flexible in order to accommodate students coming from different educational systems.
Students who have completed their secondary education in the Spanish system must present their marks from the 3rd and 4th year of ESO as well as 1st and 2nd years of Bachillerato, and they must pass Selectividad. Additionally, we require an official academic English exam (TOEFL or IELTS).
