This programme is challenging and will enable you to develop your knowledge about the various elements of Law. The LLB structure is centered on the seven core subjects which are Constitutional and Administrative Law, Contract Law, Tort Law, Land Law, Equity & Trusts, European Law and Criminal Law. Coverage of the content of these core legal subjects ensures that students have a sufficiently competent knowledge base of these key areas.
This LLB programme does not have qualifying status. This means that students who wish to subsequently take the Legal Practice Course or Bar Vocational Course will need to complete a 1 year CPE/GDL before doing so.
The Anglia Ruskin University LLB programme is designed for those candidates who wish to develop their knowledge about the various elements of Law and obtain a LLB in a minimum of 3 years. Successful completion of the programme allows entry to Anglia Ruskin University MBA (law).
• Two good ‘A ‘ Level passes (grade A-C) or Spanish equivalent • GCSE English and mathematics at grade ‘C’ or above (or equivalent) • English ability equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.0 if English is not first language. Applications by people without these qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.
The LLB programme comprises the following modules divided into 3 levels: four modules in Level 4, five modules in Level 5 and six modules, plus in Level 6, three of which are optional choices: Level 4 - Core Modules 1. Legal Foundations 2. Contract Law 3. Criminal Law 4. Constitutional and Administrative Law I Level 5 - Core Modules 5. Constitutional & Administrative Law II 6. Equity and Trusts 7. Land Law 8. Legal Research 9. Tort Law Level 6 – Core Modules 10. Comparative Law Research Project 11. Skills for Employability and the Workplace 12. European Union Law Level 6 – Optional Modules (students are required to select three from the below choice of five) 13. Company Law 14. Family Law 15. Law and ethics 16. International Commercial Law 17. Employment Law DURATION OFF THE PROGRAMME: The minimum period of registration is 3 years, but this may be extended to suit your individual needs for up to a maximum of 6 years. ASSESSMENT: You will undertake a range of assessments, including essays, case studies, portfolios, presentations, problem scenarios, and examinations. There are 4 enrolment dates per year: January, April, July and October.
